Quick Answer
Every provider is checked against the GPhC register. We verify their registration status, pharmacy number, and that they are authorised to dispense prescription medications.
Detailed Answer
Provider verification is at the core of what WhichWeightMeds.org does. Every provider listed on our platform goes through a verification process before being included, and their details are re-checked at regular intervals.
The foundation of our verification is the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) register. We confirm that each provider holds active GPhC registration as a pharmacy, that their registration number matches the details on their website, and that their registered address corresponds to their operational details.
Beyond GPhC registration, we also assess providers based on: the availability and transparency of their consultation process (ensuring a proper clinical assessment is conducted); clear pricing information (including whether consultation fees are included); medication availability and stock status; delivery options and timeframes; and published patient reviews and feedback.
We do not verify or endorse the clinical decisions made by individual prescribers at each provider. Prescribing decisions are the responsibility of the registered prescriber conducting your consultation.
If we become aware that a provider's GPhC registration has lapsed, been suspended, or removed, we remove them from our platform immediately. We encourage users to independently verify GPhC registration using the public register at pharmacyregulation.org.
