NHS Availability
NICE approved Mounjaro for weight management in December 2024 (TA1026). The NHS rollout is phased — from March 2025, specialist weight management services were required to fund access for eligible patients. The broader primary care rollout is expected to take up to three years.
On the NHS, Mounjaro would be available at the standard prescription charge (currently £9.90 per item in England, or free for those with a pre-payment certificate or exemption). In Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, prescriptions are free.
